I remember discussions when I first heard about this at a mod meet. My thinking is, unless you are as big as a CLEC selling under your own name will do nothing. You need to sell yourself to the customer and your product needs to be a name everyone knows. Most of us are owners with a technical background and not a sales background. If your customer has faith in you then they won't care what product you install. You should have no trouble selling XBlue under it's own name as it is a good product.

We do not have trouble selling it under our own name, however a our sales people think it could be another good product to offer. Our already good name would stand behind this product.

The private label was supposed to be a Google buster. In other words folks would not be able to Google your product and get pricing forcing you to play low ball. So in theory it should work well as a sales tactic for you.  The only caviat I would have for it not to work to your advantage would be product volume. If you can't keep a good volume of product moving the price breaks may become a non issue.

What you say is very true. We are still thinking about it.
