Figure this out. The company that my wife used to work for had their computers hacked. Nothing to see there right? Well, apparently it was the IT company that maintains their computers and server that got hacked. I'm guessing that because the IT company maintains remote administration of their server that that's how it spread.
I'm wondering if the IT company didn't get hacked directly, one of their other clients did and it spread to them... or the hackers know that IT companies are stupid enough maintain open links to their clients and had a field day.
That got me thinking. My wife now works out of my office on a computer provided by her company. I know their IT company can remote into her computer any time (as a matter of fact I encourage her to call them instead of me). The only thing we share is my network printer. Wondering about this because she is on the same network with my machine although there is no communication between them.
