Page via tapping into phone speaker
« on: February 06, 2020, 08:46:04 AM »
I've seen it a million times but never did it, so I have to hook a single horn up to an old NEC DS2000 phone for a loud room.

Is Viking the way to go?

I've used the viking unit two or three times over the years , works well .  One caution speaker phone on that set  will be broadcast over the horn .

I've had good luck with the Viking M2W unit as well.  It comes with everything you need, including one 25AE horn.  It also allows more of the 25AE horns to be added, in my case up to three of them.  Not bad for a tiny little amplifier.  As Skip said, everything comes over the horn(s), so if possible, you might want to disable the speakerphone function if possible on the phone.  I know that Vodavi systems allow this, but I'm not sure about other systems.
