Xfer to Ext Cell with a CICS
« on: December 02, 2019, 11:58:32 AM »
Client presently has a 3x8 DR1 believe it or not. He called today and wants to have the ability for calls to be answered by the system & to transfer calls to 7 cell phones. I know this can be done with a CICS using the built-in CCR with active extensions using routes and destination codes as I've done it before. However I don't know if it can be done with non-active ones. If not, then I'll be forced to install 7 M7100's in the equipment cabinet.

Would it be better setting this up on a CP100?

He had asked Bell 3-1/2 months ago for a quote and never heard back... LOL

Dave -

Not having worked on anything Northern since the SG-1 and the SL-1, I can only suggest...

Two questions:

1) Which option will be the less grief for you?

2) Which option will make you the most money?

DR 1 won't do it. And VM won't work on a DR 1 either as there is no supervision.

Sell them a CICS 4.1 and a CP100.

Do I even need the CP100?  Why not just Call Forward External from each extension & do they need an actual telephone connected?

Call forward external takes 2 lines if done by the CICS. The CP can do it with one using Bell 3 way calling and you don't need any phones at all.
