For the life of me I can't understand why anyone that enjoys using the Internet that they pay for would support repealing
the net neutrality rules.

For a second let's pretend that your water provider is also in the hand sanitizer business. How would you feel if they decided to reduce the amount of the water flow to your bathroom sink? After all, if you can use all of the soap and water you desire to wash your hands that would be in direct competition of their hand sanitizer business wouldn't it? I don't know about you but I prefer soap and water to wash my hands instead of using hand sanitizer whenever possible. I don't think it would be in my best interest for them to be able to charge me more to wash my hands the way I want to.

Sound stupid? Yeah, that's how I feel about supporting repealing net neutrality rules!  :011:

Interesting analogy, Bobby.

I think from a consumer standpoint few would disagree with you.  From a business owner standpoint that might differ, kind of like you get to choose what magazines you sell in your convenience store, or what kind of food you serve in your restaraunt.

Maybe Moe has strongly held beliefs, so in his house he has his router set to block pornography.  If Shemp comes over and uses Moe's wifi, he can't get to barnyardcheerleaders.net.  To take it on step further, Curly grew up in the same house with Moe, and his owns an ISP.  He has strongly held beliefs, so he doesn't allow access to pron on his system.  Larry on the other hand sees a capitalistic opportunity to allow access to every site for the same price as Curly, so me and the rest of the Stooges sign up with Larry.

We set firewalls in client offices to allow no access at all to the internet other than business related sites to cut down on employee theft of time.  Some people would cry about that as well.

Personally, as I referenced above, as a consumer I agree with you that it's a win for us as my companies would have to pay for the all you can eat, whatever you want plan which would cost more.  I say that as even if Larry opened the gates, somewhere upline we'd run into Level 3 who isn't going to miss an opportunity to make a buck or sell crap service.

I get what you're saying. But I'm talking about personal use. I agree that business users should be able to control their Internet access however they choose 100%. But it should not be left up to ISP!

Including the website was funny. I didn't dare try to go to it knowing you.  :011:

After I typed that I decided I probably needed to make sure it wasn't a live site.   :011:
