Hello!
I am a System Administrator and the 3rd party phone service company has become a nightmare to work with, so I have been tasked with learning more about the Phone System, and doing whatever I can do without dealing with the phone service company.

So I can do basic things and follow instructions in a manual, but recently an individual moved offices, and they needed to keep their extension, so I swapped the cables so both phones now have the right extension, but one phone is an idcs 28d with more buttons than the other, and I swapped the cables before moving the phones, so it erased all the programming of the custom buttons.

So Im slowly learning how to set that back up, but Im having some issues. The most important button they have is the all page button. Like it is used so much and so I was trying to find a manual way for an all call page to be done, and the internet said (and the manual which I found said) that it should be done by dialing 55 and then asterick. I get an invalid number when I do that. If I try any of the paging groups manually by typing 551, or 552 etc, I get number not assigned.
I seem to be missing something here. Any ideas?

Your first problem with regards to swapping 2 phones of different types, you need to unplug both phones, swap the cables and then move and plug the phones back in.That will avoid this happening.

Your second problem , if you have a phone with the page button working, go to that phone ,dial TRANSFER 107  and press the button that they use to page.It will tell you what code the button is programmed with.
