TDE 600/TVA 200 Internal calls to Auto Attendant
« on: October 19, 2017, 02:10:09 PM »
Hi All,
I have a TDE 600 with a TVA200. I have a Custom Service set up on the TVA for an auto attendant when a DID is dialed. That works fine. I want to have internal callers go to that same auto attendant when they dial a certain extension.

I've tried setting the ext to Fwd all calls to voicemail, then have the mailbox set Call Transfer Status to the Custom Service....it never sends the call to the AA/CS, it just goes to the normal mailbox.

Any tips for me?

Thanks,
Travis

Hi TM, that's a somewhat odd request but let me work on it.
The ext. is sending "follow on ID" so when forwarded it will go to that mailbox.
Without forwarding on an ext. the AA should pick up and give you options like press 1 to leave a message and so on to reach other extensions.
Do you want the individual mailboxes?  What is the pilot ext number for the A/A?

If there isn't an easier way you may need to forward the phones to an extension without a mailbox and have that extension forward to the A/A. Then the main greeting should pick up.
there are a lot of features in the TVA that I've never used like personal AA and so on.
Let me look into a bit and I'll get back to you.

BTW, are you talking about just 1 extension? That's a different ballgame.

Hi Mr. G.,
I am talking about one extension.

I have DID 365-xxxx going to trunk 38 that corresponds to Custom Service 38 on the TVA. That works fine. I want extension 411 to go directly to the same AA/CS when its dialed from inside.

In the future there may be similar instances to this with different extensions and different AAs.

Thanks,
Travis

Have you tried the "transfer to custom service" within that extensions mailbox?
Don't forward the extension after you set the incomplete call handling.
Do you have the "subscriber's manual"? not the programming or install.

I have tried that, however not without forwarding the call with FWD/DND. I will un-fwd and give it a shot today. Thanks!!

I got to thinking about this, how does the phone know to go to voicemail if I don't set FWD/DND on the phone? I must be missing something.....

Because the A/A has control of the call. The A/A is told to transfer the call to xxx Ext and then it looks at
the attributes that are set up for that Ext and follows what it's told.
It should be under "incomplete call handling"

The A/A doesn't have the call yet. My scenario is as follows:

I pick up the handset in my office, I dial 411, I want to get the same A/A as when I dial the DID from outside.

Sorry, forgot about that.
I was thinking of incoming CO calls.   :023:

Gotcha. Incoming CO calls are all set. Its just the internal calls.  :023:

I know how to do this several ways with an Avaya system, the Panasonic seems to be designed as "Who would want an internal A/A??"

Thanks for all of your help!

Travis,
on further investigation I've found that there is a way but it's very involved and not for "end-users"
It involves getting into the command prompts of the TVA200 and making changes.

I'm not afraid of command line. Would you be willing to share? I "own" the phone system here, so I take full responsibility.

Thanks,
Travis
