Old legend

I have an old legend  10x 24customer  all 34 button bis dis says ,i have never witnessed  that iif someone is on the phone and a call
callcomes in ,all phones go off then comeback
an associate swapped the processor and co line card
lasted 4 weeks and now back
any ideas

the cards for the merlin sets its been running trouble free for like 20 years

The 34 button sets pull the most power of all the sets.  Make sure you have a good power supply.

I would swap out station cards also, and then talk about upgrade.

By the time your done replacing parts they will complain about parts price and your labor .

We still service about a dozen of them. None  with the Merlin phones.

Swapped power made no difference
Customer refused upgrade
Wants to swap backplane and all atl cards

I think it's time you have to ask yourself how much revenue is this client really providing in a year?
It might be time to tell him upgrade or I can't help you.

Yes i know but he has been a customer for 25  plus years has 5 locations all with merlin pluses
the best customer ever like a close friend
Its tough to walk from that loyalty
Besides with the up heavel in the business
what system can you sell in good conscience that may be discontinued  next week

Yesterday i swapped backplane and all 408 atl cards
already had new power 391c and processor

So they have a Very Old, New System

I'm guessing by the time they get the bill for this they could have been on there way to a real New system.

Funny ending

The owner  called me yesterday and said Cabelvision came out
and rebooted modem and problem has been gone for 3 weeks
Hes happy he now  has a spare system
Funny thing is it was the first thing i reccommened and he said no
We both had a good laugh and he invited me to lunch.
