« on: April 04, 2016, 04:32:41 PM »
Found this great little utility that will remove the windows 10 update icon in your task bar and disable the auto download that is coming as an update.

download and run the gwx control panel.

Did we ever reach a verdict on win 7 or 8 vs. win 10?  :023:
I have two desk tops in my office that have the icon offering a free upgrade to Win 10.
Should I do it or will I be sorry?  :002:
Thanks, Wayne

I think the only reason to not upgrade is if you have any apps that will only run on XP. Win 10 has no compatibility with XP and does not include an XP virtual machine.

I've got to be honest... I thought I would hate Windows 10, but so far I haven't had any problems. Again... I tweak my installs, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.

I've heard nothing but good comments about Win 10 except for the forced upgrade.

I guess I'll take an extra PC and see what it's all about.

Can you make an install CD?   What happens if you upgrade and have to rebuild the PC?  Do you load win 7 and upgrade again?

I do a clean install of Windows 10 off a USB drive. I'll see if I can find some good step-by-step instructions for the process.

That's great I haven't set up a PC for Win-10 yet, I'll try your method.
