Unified Messaging Email Failure
« on: December 13, 2015, 04:58:58 PM »
We have been fighting this all day. Customer has a Axxessory Talk running NT4. They changed where the website and email are hosted and now when a voice mail comes in the email with the wav file won't send. The username, password, smtp & pop3 credentials are all correct. Nothing here changed and all the other email in the office is working fine. I even set it up with my email account credentials and it delivered fine. What am I missing?

If everythign in DBStudio is correct then you're getting out of my pay grade.  Trace is out but asked me to get the following information from you.

Could it be that the new email server requires long usernames (username@domain.com) and you're still using an old format of username only?

When you changed hosting, did the smtp & pop3 servers stay the same?

Have you tired setting up the mail account for the Axxessory Talk in your phone or another email client and verify that the account itself is functioning properly.

Have you verified that the emails are being created? Are they in the outbox but not sending? If nto have you watched the process in Avdapmon?

What is your gateway and network configurationo layout? (Devices/routers/etc)

Hi Ken. Please tell him I said thank you!

Long usernames made no difference. I just tried. The smtp and pop credentials are different (i think) but we have triple chedked that they are correct.

I did just try the vm email address in my phone and it works fine so its the AT I suppose. And yes it took some looking but the old emails are in the outlook outbox.

The gateway is AT&T dsl modem bridged and the router is a SOHO3. The AT unit is on the lan switch

He said assuming you can browse and ping by name and this really is due to the server move then its an issue w/the way the voicemail box is talking to the mailsever. Some mail server software will experience this. Log into the SOHO and force the WAN interface to 10Mbps/Half Duplex to test. Said it's been a long time but he thinks its under Advanced/Ethernet/WanLink Settings.

If that solves the problem you can either leave it set that way or if you have an extra public ip, you can take the vm box off the LAN and put it behind its own router. Your network guys should be able to handle that but if not I can get directions and PM them to you.
