New SMT IP phones
« on: June 05, 2010, 02:21:55 PM »
We have some on the way.  I was just curious is anyone has some feedback on the new IP phones, how well they work/perform.

Thanks in advance.

Mine should get here on Monday. Did you buy the dealer demo package?

No.  We might need to do that though.  We have a loaded 7100 we use for demos.  Used to use the 7200 demo kit, but it was a tank to drag into prospects.

We were part of the field trials and I really like them. The 1305 is a great phone at a super price. I've got an OS7200 at the house with a bunch of the new phones and it's great.

I may have been misleading in having you think I was refering to a complete new demo system.

I should have stated it is the SMT-i Series IP Variety Pack which I was refering to.

I have had a 5230 on my desk for a while and really like the desiless feature.  Very cool and easy to set up.  The 5243 is kind of a hassle IMOH.  Im also running communicator on my 5230 in UC Pro mode.  Pretty much just a fancy version of call tho.

When you buy your equipment through Graybar you are never made aware of such things.   :002:

Finally getting a chance to set the new phones up.  The  SMT-i5243D/XAR 19B, 4.3" Color LCD, IP Set, is the only one with blue tooth capability.  All sets are sold without power units expecting to be connected to a POE switch. Power units are available at an extra charge. Wall mount brackets are now sold seperately as well.  All of the SMT-i series phones are full duplex speakerphones.

Played with the 5230 today and I love the conference feature.  All phones should make conferencing 5 parties that easy.

It appears they are suspending sales of the ITP-51xx phones.

I believe they are only suspending the sales of the 5112 not the 5121 or 5107.

Not too excited about having to stock three types of IP phone power supplies.  One for the old/discontinued style, 5XXX.  Then one for the 31xx, on for the 5210, etc.

I wish they would have designed them to work off one power supply.
