Vodavi flash voice mail/auto attendant transfer to a group
« on: March 02, 2014, 09:50:28 AM »
I am trying to transfer from the main greeting (day or night) to a group.  I've set up the group of stations to ring 'all' in 450.
I have then set up in the auto attendant to transfer to this group by pressing '3'.  The station group is '101', '102' and '103'.  When you dial 450 directly it rings all stations.  When you are in the auto attendant greeting and press '3' it rings only station 101.  Any thoughts as to what may be causing this?

Hi djbedo:

Welcome to the board.  We've had a similiar issue on Inter-Tel systems, but since I'm not a Vodavi tech I don't want to risk sending you down a wrong path.  I just wanted to say hello and let you know that replies can be a little slow here over the weekend, but the good news is we've got some top notch Vodavi gurus!  Dave, Ed, or Larry will likely see your post soon be able to give you a hand.

Very strange.  Have you tried watching the transfer using ETRACE?  I'd be curious to see what the voice mail is actually dialing when you press 3.  Despite the fact that the voice mail card is internal, it is still a separate device.  We need to know if the voice mail is doing what it is supposed to do or if there's an issue with the KSU.

I'm assuming that your test calls are via outside lines and not internal, correct?  Being external, are there appearances of all lines on these phones or at least loop buttons?  Also, which extension is the designated attendant station?

Sorry to have more questions than answers.

Thanks for the follow up.  Yes calls were from outside and there are line appearances on all phones.
I don't recall how to set up etrace ... but you are correct what would be dialed would be interesting to know.
If you have the set up steps I would appreciate it.  I presume it's through terminal emulation.

Yes, you need to connect a laptop to serial port #1 and use the word ETRACE to enter the trace function.  If you type ?, you will be given a list of available trace options.  We really can't go too much farther with the details here though since our support is limited to end-user help.  This information is detailed in the manual in the maintenance function.  My guess is that the voice mail card isn't dialing 450 for some reason, which should be easy to determine once you look at Q trace.

Thanks for the follow up.  If you have any additional thoughts I'd appreciate it.
Hopefully I can get back there in a week or so.
Have a great day!
