Flash Voice Mail.... Again
« on: December 11, 2013, 06:22:33 PM »
Once again I'm helping a friend out, or trying to anyway. He has a Vodavi STS-e with a flash card 8 port voice mail card. We had a power drop over the weekend and since then the voice mail card is acting up.

He can manually reset the card by pressing the reset button and it works fine for ONE test call. It plays the greeting like it's supposed to and everything is OK. After the first call the "Busy" indicator on the card stays lit and he gets a fast busy when he tries to make another call.

He's hoping there is a "Quick Fix". I'm afraid it's going to have to be initialized but I wanted to see if you guys know of a quick fix.

I'm sorry I do not know the firmware or any other information about the system.

Well, we initialized the voice mail card and the KSU. It's still acting crazy. I don't fully understand why the greetings were still there after a few times but eventually they went away.  :032:

I think the voice mail card is shot.

If any of you have a 4 port vm card for sale please pm me with the information.

Thanks in advance.
Bobby

Hey Bobby,

Sorry I missed your call the other night.  There was no cell reception where I was.

I don't know the STS so this may not be relevant, but can you frog that card to another slot?  We've had some Inter-Tel cabinets flake out after power failures if they weren't grounded well enough and take out a slot but the card itself survived.

Hey, Trace.  No, that system has a dedicated slot for the voice mail.  Bobby, I have several of those cards (factory refurbished).  I'll shoot you a private message with the details.

Thanks Ed, I'll let you know as soon as I hear from the guy.

Trace, I figured you were busy. I know you have a bunch of irons in the fire! I'll give you a call soon.
