network audit software tools
« on: November 16, 2013, 08:12:31 AM »
looking for a quality, detailed network scan tool that gives us the ability to scan a LARGE workgroup network, with our a server/domain/etc.

We've used Spiceworks in the past for a domain network and it works great. It works best in a domain setting though.

Any suggestions on another tool? paid/free/etc. doesn't matter. Just quality and the ability to print out pages for a client
Thanks,

Tony -

Visio Network USED to auto discover and then Diagram the Network. It was a very slick product.

Then Microsoft bought Visio and, well it just wasn't the same anymore. Auto Discover disappeared in later versions of the software.

I've heard of (but never used) What's connected and Solar Winds.

Amen to that.  They're business plan seems to be if we can't compete with it, we'll just buy it and destroy it.
