Multicast Paging Setup
« on: October 29, 2013, 01:32:36 PM »
OfficeServ 7400 4.70. All local SMT VoiP Phones. Cisco 300 48POE managed switch. Samsung Tech Support is no help. I have all settings in the 7400 correct. Is the 7400 considered the IGMP Router? Do the SMT phones query IGMP? Need some help trying to understand the managed switch portion of this equation.

The phone system goes thru the switch for multicast paging so the IP address of the page group needs to be the same on the switch. Then on the switch you assign what ports "in" the multicast group. Hope that helps if at all. Also I found this  - https://supportforums.cisco.com/servlet/JiveServlet/previewBody/13512-102-1-30916/tip-multicast-300-31aug.pdf hope that helps.
