No of DTMF receivers on iDCS 100
« on: May 17, 2010, 02:24:31 PM »
I can not find how many DTMF receivers are on a Rev1 iDCS 100.  I have picked up a customer who did a "Self Install" and they have the cabinet filled with 8SLI cards and a PRI.  They are stating that on occassion they can't dial out on the Analog phones.  I could be wrong but I believe it is a DTMF issue.  (They have no issues from the 1 Digital phone)

There is an MMC in the 800's called Show Systems Resources. This will show how many DTMFR DSP's are being used and how many are free.

Thanks Marc, I remembered that MMC right after I posted.  There are 4 receivers available.  It is definately the problem since I watched the resources and the minute they 4 used they were unable to dial out.  Now if they were running Analog trunks I don't think it is an issue but the PRI is definately requiring them.

Again much appreciated Marc.

If the system has an smics card it should have a total of 8 dsp's which the scp card converts according to what it needs. So you should have a minimum of 8 receivers, try turning off the ANI on the tepri card. It uses DTMF to give the id info to the sets. It might free up the dsp's to work faster.

Thanks I will do so, speeding up the release of the receivers should help some.

Unfortunately, the customer does not have a Misc card so they need to purchase one.  The company that sold them the product really did them wrong, they informed the customer they need a Misc4 card which of course won't work with a Rev1 iDCS 100.  On top of that the customer also has to purchase a 6TRK card to accomodate the Analog trunks they just had delivered after they were told the system was equiped to handle them.

Bad for the customer good for me.  But its really unfortunate, this type of thing really gives legitimate interconnects and Samsung dealers a bad name.
