EM backup XCopy
« on: May 10, 2010, 08:42:40 AM »
I perform nightly automated backups of our phone system.  The EM will only backup files locally.  The EM is not on our domain (a design shortcoming perhaps?).  So a simple XCopy from the machine won't work.  I've tried performing the same task from our server used to store all files for tape backup.  Since the Admin passwords don't match between the two machines, that fails as well.  The simple answer is to change the Admin password on the EM to match.  Before I do that, are there any ill affects to changing this password?

Hey Doug:

Sorry for the slow reply, but I've been in meetings all day.

I wasn't aware of any known issues so I checked with a few of my techs.  All said as long as you have sufficient rights and privileges on the machines they knew of no problems.

Our server admin passwords don't match the Mitel admin password.  Although, the Mitel admin password is amazing.   :003:  My past experiences tell me to check first.  Mitel (Inter-Tel) products don't always play nice with others.

Thanks

Heck, sometimes they don't even play well with themselves.  :011:
