Voicemail Remote hold and page
« on: August 09, 2012, 08:58:38 AM »
Has anyone used this?
I have used Park and Page before and it works fine, however when following Samsungs instructions to set it up to do a remote hold (to the users extension) and page the system will not page.
I have played with all the settings i can think of but it won't work, it does do the Remote Hold good but it just will not page.

Thanks,
Brian

FYI tested on a 20e, 7100 and 7200s

Going back to my notes, I have this highlighted.

Quote
Note:
When you allow this feature in the ECLASS you must inform the customer that when they record the primary no answer greeting; they have to make this feature apart of their greeting.

Example: You have reached the mailbox of John Brown; I am either on the phone or away from my desk. To leave a message press 1 or to page me press 3.

They have recorded the no answer instructing users to press 3, the feature works up until the page, so the voicemail is putting the call on remote hold at the users extension, goes off hook, dials 55* says its paging but never does.  Switch it back to "Park and page" it pages.
According to samsung tech support yesterday, its working like it should, its not supposed to page.  I find this hard to believe because the manual says it does page and how is the end user supposed to know the call is holding on their desk, obviously if they are being paged they are not at their desk.  Also if its not supposed to page why would the voicemail be indicating in port activity it is paging the user?
I have a feeling i got brushed off for a second time in 2 weeks.

Also - this only works on a trunk call. So make sure the trunk is listed in the trunk.tbl file

Good find Ironhedz- after ver 4.xx on the 7000 you need to put a H,H at the end of the dial string, the first H actually doesn't do any good but the delay with the second H forces the system to go back off hook in between dialing 10 (which it shouldn't be because we are not parking and paging anymore) and the 55*.
Confirmed on a 100 with a 4e it doesn't dial the 10.
