Swinging back on this OLD thread, but figured it may make sense to keep it one place for more searching.

Anyone ever dealt with them? We have a client interested and I do know they used to be a very manual install and maintain. Not plug n play as it were, but I'm sure things have changed a bit over the years since we first looked at the product.
Thanks,

The company I work for here in NC sells their products exclusively, although about 80% is hosted.  I'm not particularly impressed with what I've seen, but I spend most of my time supporting their base of customers with digital systems.  When I participated in helping troubleshoot one of their hosted installations, I didn't see it as very sophisticated.  Much like 1A2 with a few flexible keys.  Everything is optional, meaning that adapters and other gadgets are required for basic functions such as music on hold or paging, but that's pretty much the case with a lot of IP systems.  It seems like most of our customers that are choosing it are ones with dead systems who are in a pinch to get something up cheap and easy.  Zultys offers their own hosting, and with a good dealer relationship, they are able to turn installations around the next day.  The phones are a bit larger than I think they need to be, meaning and the styling is a bit basic, but they're solid and the speaker/handset audio quality is excellent.

I used to be a zultys dealer and went on the tech training.  Their tech support is pretty good if the customer has paid the maintenance and your tech stays up on the product and does annual testing (online).  I thought the appliance was just OK.  Feature set was pretty basic, the computer integration was better than average, but I thought for what you were getting its pretty expensive.

You can get most of the same features with no licenses for much less with something like Grandstream UCM and the grandstream is much easier to deploy.  I have an old MX250 that I bought as a demo kit, only sold a dozen of the systems, you can have it - its worthless without a maintenance contract.  I think their direct competitor was shoretel before mitel bought that one.

Annual maintenance fees to zultys is the only way to get software upgrades and tech support (and warranty), and if memory serves the switch shuts down for out of license systems.  So keep those cheques coming!  They may have changed their tune, I havent worked on one in 3 years...
