Programming

We currently have a iwatsu ix-cme phone system.  We currently rely on another company to maintain our phones, but due to their recent changes in staff, they no longer have anyone who has knowledge of these systems.  We are trying to add a phone to our system, and remove an extension on a current phone.  We are having trouble finding a company to assist us.  I am the computer tech here, and have a good amount of programing in a few different languages and feel that I could figure out how to do this, but I have almost no information on the systems other than the model number; the only things I have are the Mailbox User Guide and the ADIX APS Quick Reference Guide.

What would I need to know to do this?

Thanks.

Rusty... the Programmer for the Iwatsu APS is a proprietary piece of software.  The APS also requires a custom connector to establish communication with the phone system.  Your best bet in this instance is to find a qualified Iwatsu technician in your area and see if you can hire them to provide you with Administrative training.

Sir, From what I can tell in that sentence, you may just be better off going to VOIP or go with an Asterisk solution since if you have programming skills.

Telephony "programming" is different than computer "programming". Programming like in the sense of needing to get a special console or some other craft type of device to get into the system or go into admin mode on the receptionst console and change the settings. (I don't know about this system, but its worth a shot.)

Like it was said previously, you would likely need to find a certified tech that can administer the system.
