3100
« on: June 20, 2011, 04:01:50 PM »
I have a customer with multi sites. 2 sites are highend retirement residences with 3100's and under used PRI's and an SX????s for analog connections to the suites. The others are a mix of Norstar CICS and Toshiba CIX. The customer wants to interconnect all sites under a mitel platform so they can port the remote numbers to the PRI's. I realize the 3100's are discontinued. The question, can the 3100's be networked to allow access to more IP phones than the max of 55 and cross connection to the PRIs that are at different sites.

The head office has a CIX with about 25 sets. The other sites are small (under 10 phones). All sites are interconnected with 100Mb fiber hubbed from the HO. Would hanging remote IP phones be the best solution for the remote sites to give them access to to the PRIs?

Any and all ideas welcome (except dropping the Mitel platform).

Thanks.

Marv,

I don't have any time in on 3100s so I'm not much help here.  I've PM'd Fred at Resale Systems and if anybody can help you, he's the man.

Fred doesn't always have a chance to check his PM's. I'll give hime a call in the morning, I need to talk with him anyway. :003:

Marv,

I checked with Fred and he's not that familiar with the 3100 either.  I already said I don't know what I'm talking about but I'll give you what I've got.

Like you said, the 3100 is a discontinued model.  I haven't been able to locate an I&M manual yet, and the Tech Handbook is a bit unclear on some things.  I remember hearing about it in the early 2000's and I think it was replaced by the SX200 ICP CX, but how much it would resemble the CX I can't say.

If I'm reading right, the two you have can be IP networked.  I think success would hinge on an efficient ARS program and the quality of their network equipment.  The remaining issues would be integration of the existing TDM systems and interconnection to the analog stations and POTS lines at the satellite locations.

Not much help, I know, but that's all I have right now.  I'll try to get you all the docs I've found so far, too.
