dsx 40 intramial , transfer to announcment mailbox
« on: July 01, 2011, 09:05:38 AM »
DSX 40 with intramail , we would like to be able to transfer callers to announcement mailbox's to listen to the message and then allow them to return to reception.

I dont seem to be able to do it . the best I can come up with is to make them subscriber mb with no message allowed and inform the caller to press 0 to return to the operator

tech service says you cant do it but Ive seen solutions on here that tech service doesn't know about before

Using a guest mail box for the announcement wouldnt work for you ?

I would guess  seeing other posts your using the support in Shelton  they are excellent?

It would Ken , I  just like the features of announcement box's like repeating the message then transferring the caller , Tech service is very good but I have found solutions on the forums for problems they couldn't help with and ways to do things they said couldn't be done

didn't  they moved the tech support to Dallas from Shelton ?

Skip, i have noticed that overflow calls will be picked up in Texas for tech support.

I assume they are still using  Shelton as well.

It would not surprise me if they did move tech support down south. That is a good question and i will try and find you a answer.

Skip,

Did you try using the Next Call Routing Mailbox in 4223?  I don't have a system to test on the bench at the moment, but in the Announcement box I would try setting the Next CRMB to 805 (e.g.) as a routing box, define a DAT with timeout to Reception.  Not sure if that will work... but worth a shot if you haven't tried it?

I was thinking next call routing mailbox too.

This is what. I am thinking but I an on vacation and can't test

Create a user mailbox with next call routing enabled
Create a routing mailbox where 1-9 are goto announcement

A caller calls in and the answerer presses transfer,  waits for the greeting to play, presses 1-9 then hangs up.

Maybe the outside caller would then be connected to the announcement.

I sounds doable but who knows.

The answer from Tech support is both locations Texas as well as Shelton have support on the DSX. Case solved.
