Sorry for the delay Kevin.  Ken is off and I've been out all day.  I just sent you the file with instructions.  Just enter the pass for the zip and rename the file back to an exe.

Good luck.  :054:

Any chance I could get a copy of this utility.  We are in the early stages up migrating a phone system from an older Inter-Tel OS2 system and I need to convert the r24 audiotex recording files to wav and then to mp3 files.  I am having a devil of a time finding a download for the convert.exe utility.  I have the instructions, just not the exe.  I could receive the file wrapped in a zip file.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Hi. Any chance of acquiring that conversion utility, too please?

I have an ageing Axxess that will shortly put out to pasture and it would be great to save the r24 files from that system for archival purposes! r24 to WAV would be fine - not worried about MP3 at this moment. A CLI tool would be fine - I'm a UNIX guy!

Thanks!

Hello, looking for this utility as well. Moving away from an old Axxess system too... Would be most helpful to convert the recordings to import into the new system.
Comfortable with CLI + conversion to other formats after this.

Would be MOST appreciated!

Thanks!

***PLEASE READ REGARDING CONVERSION UTILITIES***

Recent changes have had to been implemented regarding Inter-Tel utilities.  Please understand that these are tech level utilities and not supported for use by end users.  Therefore due to repeated requests for conversions this thread is being reopened to alllow end users who are upgrading a source to have their R24 files converted.  If you need to have files converted you may post in this thread and a moderator or senior level board member will contact you via the email address in your profile.  You can then make arrangements with the technician to do a conversion of your corporate voicemail files for you.  Expect the technician to charge for his time and experience.

I too would appreciated the conversion file. Could you send me a link or the file. If the latter please change the extension from .exe. We're getting rid of our old Intertel system and there's a few voicemails we need to keep.

Much appreciated, Wilo

Hi Wilo:

Welcome to the board!

I'm sorry, but as referenced above since this is the actual Inter-Tel utility (not a home brew) we can't send it out to end users.  If you would like to have someone convert the files for you I'll be glad to have a tech get in touch with you.

If you prefer to work with it yourself you might try some of the audio conversion programs. It's a bit cumbersome, but with persistence it can be done.

Macgyver.  can you send me a copy of the tool you mentioned to convert the r24 to wav?  I have a voicemail on an Axxess that I am trying to convert.

Hello - as it sounds like many others have done in the past, I'd appreciate a copy of one of these utilities to migrate .r24 recordings from an Inter-Tel System to .wav files.  I've found the specific .r24 file I need and the user would like to save this message for playback elsewhere.  Usually we've always used a Dictaphone and recorded the messages during playback, but apparently he's looking for better quality than that.  Could someone send me the information for the file conversion please?  Our Inter-Tel system is sitting on an old Windows 2000 machine so no 64-bit OS issues here  :003:

I hope this tool or better is still available. We just retired our 25+year Axxess System (10.3) with EM, and is usually the case NOW some peeps want some messages retrieved for them. I tried to email out of the EM box but all they get is a .EML that is essentially blank. I need to copy their messages to a usable, playable format and send that to them. Talking about 10-15 messages for about 15 peeps, so far.

TIA

Hi Carmac, and welcome to the board!

There are a few options to pull those messages yourself.  If you set up Level I Unified Messaging on a mailbox, then any VMs left at that box will be emailed to you in a .wav format.  You can then forward the existing messages to that box.  Some people use the record a call feature and simply playback the message with RAC turned on and that will email the message as well, but that seems a bit redundant.

As for the converstion utility, since it's the actual Inter-Tel software we can't email it out as it's proprietary.  If they want to have a conversion done we can refer you to a tech who does them.

There is a way to convert them with some off the shelf software, but I understand it's hit and miss.  I've never tried it personally as we use the Inter-Tel tools.

Mac will be back in the office after lunch and he may have some added insight.
-Ken

I have a defunct voicemail system, but have extracted the r24 files I wish to preserve for posterity :) I would be interested in having someone quote me a price, ASAP.
