SMTW5120 and Cisco Aironet
« on: April 14, 2011, 07:11:00 PM »
Was wondering if anyone has got the wifi phones to work on a cisco aironet wap. They are using wpa2 tkip security. My phones will not even register to the system. Is it a problem with the security?

From the tech manual...

iii. If a WPA_PSK or WPA2_PSK key has been enabled, select AES Mode or TKIP Mode to enter the Encryption Key.

I have had a hard time getting the WIP phones to regester unless I use the Samsung AP.

Same thing here Marc. It works just fine when I use the SMTr2000. The customer just installed the waps about a year ago. Funny thing is, I was able to get them to work on a cisco wap200, so i know there is something in the ap that is blocking me. Do you know if we need to have multicast enabled. Their data vendor asked me that yesterday and I did not know the answer.
