IPO-partner VM remote retrieval
« on: February 01, 2011, 06:48:04 PM »
I have only installed one of the IPO Partner editions so I am not very versed in the operations. I need to know how to retrieve a VM once you've entered the mailbox, (like the Partner *7).

With the weather we are having the customer is calling stating that they were closed today and most likely tomorrow. He is wanting his messages from home.

Thanks!

Todd

You can still use *7 has long as they have set up an access code.
*04 in the user's VM menu.

I am puzzled....I just called and your options didn't work. I wonder if they don't have passwords setup.

Mailbox must have a password to be able to retreive messages from other than the owner's extension. Then you have to have an AA selector code point to hunt group 778. I use selector code 7 because of the old *7. As soon as the AA picks up hit 7.

Now, I don't know what it is with the digital phones (haven't played with them yet) because they have a VM button but I believe you would have to use Intercom 778 to retreive messages from another extension internally, same as with the ETR phones.

Since you can "stack" AA's have * go to another AA, and have 7 in that AA go to VM. Voila' *7 is back!!

Yeah, interestingly * and # can be used as well as 1-9.

For remote Voice Mail retrieval, you need the following:

  • You must have the users name recorded in the voice mailbox.
  • You must have a mailbox password set.

From the outside, call your system and have an auto attendent selector code for Transfer for Voice Mail Collect. This will allow you to retrieve voice mail messages remotely.

Internally, from a digital 14xx (or new 95xx) set, use the Visula Voice to retrieve messages from your set. From any phone, you can dial INTERCOM 777 (to retrieve your messages) or INTERCOM 778 (to retrieve messages from another extension).

Remember, you can also use some of the other built-in tools in PARTNER Version: Voice Mail to E-mail, Outcalling Notification (in R7.0)
