SIP Trunking with a Fax Server
« on: July 02, 2011, 12:26:36 PM »
Is anyone using this configuration? Pros and Cons?

We are planning on setting up a fax server in a centralized location for all of our sites to use and we were told by another vendor that SIP Trunking into a fax server can be hit and miss and unreliable with faxes both sending and receiving. I don't have a problem with using a T1/DID but would like to hear input if anyone is using this configuration, thanks.

That has been my experience. With voice it's okay, but faxing was hit and miss.

Works okay for us, most of the time. Not as reliable as a T1/PRI.
