Topic: Communicator - SoftPhone Only Version

Okay... I have been so busy with other projects, I have not had a chance to play with the new software. As I understand it, Communicator has taken the place of the SoftPhone when used in the SoftPhone Only mode.

When using it in the SoftPhone only mode, do I still need to setup an SQL server?

Have only installed it once, but I believe you need the SQL Server for the Messenger not the softphone. I was told that the SQL Server was for the 5243 phones only and something about the XML data. Which leads me to "If anyone here can help me setting up an SQL server, that would be great, was totally lost when trying to install SQL Express and set it up".

SQL Express can be a bit of a pain. I've done several IP-UMS installations, so I've gotten good at the setup. Give me a call and I'll help you.
