Partner ACS 5.0 w/VS Mail
« on: September 13, 2010, 12:45:09 PM »
Picked up a new customer today. AAA batteries were dead and no previous back up on back up card. Now I thoought I knew Partners pretty well, but this is kicking my butt. I have all programming done except customer claims there was a button on EXT.10 ( Its labled DND but does not mean it is a DND button) that they pressed and it sent calls to the mailbox of ext 10. They also have a night button on ext. 10 that operates day/night ringing and day/night menus. I can not get ext 10 mbx to answer unless I set the Group call dist. to VMS LINE COVER lines and give line owner ship to ext 10 and turn on the DND button, but then the night button does not work and calls never go to day/night menu or follows the number of rings in VMS hunt delay.

Did you see a ASA/DXD PC card in the processor?

No there is no ASA/DXD card only a backup card. Either the customer is feeding us a line or they are forgeting to tell me something. I have questioned two different people about it and they both say it operated the same way. It has the whole company stumped. Im going to set a system up in the shop tommorow to see what we can find.  :003:

Do you think maybe, it was a VM cover button??
You are correct in your train of thought.
Have you listened to what the AA's say? You might get a clue there.

What calls are they talking about? Sounds to me like calls going to x10 transferred by the AA, NOT all incoming calls. With the extension in DND calls transfered to it will go immediately to the mailbox. So my hunch is that it really was a DND button. Make sure also that you have VM Coverage assigned in #310 for all extensions having a mailbox and that the schedule and day/night ringing is set to the desired number of rings.

Yeah, DND. They also put it on night service which they forgot to tell you.

Night service changes it to 2 rings, AA picks up then the caller selects the receptionist (X10 or zero) or they do nothing and the AA times out to the dial zero/time out which sends them to X10. X10 is in DND so the call goes right to the mailbox, no extension ringing.

They swear up and down DND during lunch,2 rings=x10 mailbox.
Day time 6 rings=day greeting.(also x12 has cordless headset and can answer the call from her extension without pressing a line button or a pick up button which to me means her station is ringing)
Night time 2 rings= night greeting
In the AA selector code 1=announcement 1,2=annc. 2,3=xfer 15,4=xfer 16,5=xfer 10,6=xfer 10,7=annc. 2,9=xfer 28.

We are sending another tech to see if he can pry anymore info from the customer and if not go with what we know.
