This problem is caused by the cell phones. It has to do with the analog to digital to analog conversion of the MOH.

I will second that. I can call our office from my Nextel and it sounds like static, with blips that cut in and out. I call from Skype or my Verizon cell and it works flawlessly.

When I install MOH I always call in , let the customer hear it on a land line and tell them it may sound crappy on a cell phone
that way when they complain I remind them of my warning and suggest they call in from a land line and see for themselves and offer to come check it out if it doesn't sound OK on land line

That is what I told him, but he doesn't want to hear it. I told him to call his cell phone provider. He just insist that isn't true , he keeps saying that he can call his stock broker from his cell and it sounds fine. I hate customers like that.

Yeah. Those mind sets are the worst. The "I know it all", who doesn't know shit. You should break out the dictionary on him and explain the differing frequencies and cellular signaling.

It's one of those things that will come and go based on conditions related to the conversion of the audio.
