New customer just purchased CTX100 with IVP8 voicemail-8 ports.  I have the software to get in, but I don't know if it's the top or the bottom serial port that you use for programming.  I tried both but didn't succeed---thought maybe I would halve my options and maybe my problems.  Plain card, 8 lights, two serial ports---no name visible on VM card anywhere.  I've been trying to get in with IVP8 R2 option in software.

Have gotten in via the phone and worked with main greeting---but I'm having problems with 990---getting  prompt---"you've dialed an invalid number--to reach an operator say yes...." and other problems.  I figure I've just got to get into it with my laptop.  Getting frustrated.  Any help appreciated.

Should be the bottom for console and top would be SMDI

Sounds like it may be a Teleco Tis16S1 without the faceplate. Try VT100 57600 8N1

If I get a chance to go there today, I'll try that.  I'll let you know what happens.

The IVP8 R2 uses port 1 , 57600 , are you using Stratagy VM Manager ? Port 1 should be the top port on a R2, they flipped the ports between R1 & R2

Yeah, I guess you guys have hit on my problem----I don't know, for sure, what I've got there.  Maybe I'll have to shut the system down and see if there's any kind of designation on the card, itself.

I was using IVP8 R2 in the Stratagy VM manager.  I couldn't connect using 57600 so I tried everything else--but still no luck.  I got a null modem adapter on my serial cable--and have tried variations on that theme too---but no luck.

I'm going to try to go on site today and pull the card to see what's what.

It was an IVP8 r2---said on a sticker on the board---had to shut system down and pull the card out to see it.

For some reason, got in the first time, used the top serial port at 57600.  After checking programming of both the CTX100 and the IVP8 and testing ---ended up deleting all of the mailboxes except for 411 and a few others---did a plug & play---and everything came up in default.  Recorded the greeting & menu boxes and the 6 extension mailboxes and we were done.  Besides Steve & Tony, I had some good phone support too on this project. Dan & Tom.

Need to get out there and get some more Toshiba systems.  If I don't do anything for awhile with them, I forget the simplest things....p@sses me off!!
