Install SIP Phone
« on: July 11, 2023, 08:34:52 AM »
Has any one had any luck installing a SIP phone off of a Samsung7200s, I am thinking about trying a WiFi Cordless Sip Phone like the Grandstream to see if it will work for a customers site. Thinking if I can make it work it will work all over the property on the customers WiFi, Any thoughts, Any Suggestions, Anyone want to try to talk me out of it?

It would be interesting to see your results.

Yeah I've had 3rd party sip phones connected to a 7100 no problem. (7200s is just an expanded 7100)
You need 503 software or a license for 3rd party sip, but it works with the basic functionality of SIP on a PBX, the challenge will be to pick a wireless phone that works well over the customers wifi.  I've used the Grandstream WiFi phone and didn't find it to be stellar with the issue being wireless range/switching AP's as they walk.

I can provide some screen shots on the 7100 for where to program if you need - I have a 7100 in my lab (acting as a central office / interop test bench), can set up a sip device pretty swiftly.

Marty, do you have the OSDM for 5.03 version?

I have the software but not the OSDM

OSDM 5.01  was the final version.

I thought ver 5.01 was the final version also.  I do have ver 5.03 and installed it on one system.  I can't access the system with OSDM because my version is 5.01

Yep (panasonic did the same thing when they exited the market, the last version of software unlocks all licenses).
Samsung did it by making the trial demo time length 7 years.

Yes, that was in Version 5.01

I believe Version 5.03 is permanent along with a couple of other fixes.

5.03 was the last software version, 5.01 was the last  OSDM version. There is/was no 5.03 OSDM .

Licenses were unlocked in 5.03 version not before. As Marty said, the tutorial was set to 7 years although it does not appear to count down.

OK,  I should try to use the OSDM ver 5.01.  I did that and it stopped me because the 5.03 software is a higher version.  I will try it again and see  what happens
