NEC SV8100 end of life
«

Being that the NEC SV8100 is end of life I have a couple questions that I can't really get an answer to from anyone at NEC or my distributor.
1. Say we have a processor failure, Can we get a processor and move licensing from one hardware keycode to another?
2. Can we move licensing from a 8100 hardware keycode to a 9100 hardware keycode?
TIA

The only way (that I know of) to move license files to a new HKEY is with NEC Support assistance. As part of the upgrade from the CP10 to the CP20, a migration needs to occur to the new CPU. This license migration MUST be performed by NEC.
Likewise, there is a migration path from the 8100 to the 9100, but it is not free. The 8100 licenses are not compatible with the 9100. NEC must create a new file during the migration process.

Will NEC still migrate the 8100 license to the another 8100 processor? Or because it is end of life they just simply won't?

I don't believe they will because there is no viable support contract for the 8100 and you cannot purchase per-instance support. You could certainly ask, but knowing NEC, I'm guessing the chances are just about 0%.

That's what I figured and my NEC contact I don't think wants to tell me that but I am pretty certain that is the answer. LOL.
Thanks Stacey as always!!! Have a great day!
