Metal Amphenol making tool - was going to recycle it
« on: September 19, 2019, 10:23:14 AM »
Years ago I bought the spring-loaded 2-hand tool that makes the metal Amphenol (not the plastic cover ones) connectors.  Haven't used it in years.  Its the size of an old manual typewriter. Its actually in a portable typewriter case.   (this is probably the only place I could post this and just about everyone would understand what that means, know the size and weight, and probably knows the tool)
Coming from Canada (or i could drop it off at a USPS office if you're not in a rush next time I'm down in the US)
Trade a Bottle of Gin? Hell, just pay for freight.

Thanks! But I still have my old Amp tool...

I wonder where you could buy the connectors to use with it. I've built hundreds and hundreds of those things.

AMP's connectors have always been plastic, as have 3M's.  Those connectors are still easy to obtain.  I'm wondering what brand this tool is.  Metal hoods sounds as if it might be an Amphenol one or TRW/Cinch.  Any more information on the tool itself, Marty?

I'm curios as to what it is , can you post some pictures ?   I'm not interested in owning it just wondering what it is .

There seems to be growing hobbyist 1a2 community , seems like one of them or antique phone collectors might be interested
