Many thanks to everyone for the wishes.  What a crazy week it was.  One dinner with family, followed by a surprise party by friends, then another surprise party the next day by coworkers.

They scheduled me for a 4:00 PM service provider cut over at a nearby restaurant so that they'd know exactly where I'd be.  They even had a rep from Spectrum Cable in on it as the contact person, so when I called for status updates, he played along explaining that their technician was delayed.  They then let me sit in the utility room waiting until they had everything set up and finally gave me the good news.  What a crafty bunch!  It's a good feeling to be loved and appreciated.

And he didn't screw it up?  :011:
