Dukane 1A728 - now CareHawk - to ATA
« on: November 14, 2016, 02:37:02 PM »
So we have an oldie here! We have a client who has this system, and we want to interface an ATA with it. Guessing it'll be a Viking unit, the same as every Bogen or Valcom possibly, etc. I have talked to Viking and Dukane (now CareHawk) individually and those techs tap out at about 10 minutes and "I can't find any documentation of this system) lol

See attached pic. I'm gonna do the Viking route, as we've done that before with the ATA's and it works. Just wondering if anyone here has experience with this exact make/model
Thanks,

Ok, so I see what looks like a PA mixer/amplifier. What is it exactly that you want to do? Use the phone system to page through it?

Viking PI-1A or SLP-1

Yep. It's a mixer/amp and we are wondering what the exact input tolerance is on the MIC1/2/3/etc. are. Hoping that it's a simple Viking adapter as usual, but haven't firmed that up as both Viking and Dylan's support had ??? on their responses. Lol

Thanks Hal! That's what I was thinking. Just can't even find a manual on this guy.

Yes, we are looking to page via ATA -> Viking -> Dukane

There are 4 microphone inputs, all are balanced and mic level. There are two aux inputs, both unbalanced and line level. Use one of the aux inputs- shield to Common and hot to to the corresponding aux. (I would use #2, I don't know what that is connected to #1- maybe the sum of all the mic preamps?)
