ESI Voicemail Problems
« on: June 10, 2014, 06:02:27 PM »
We seem to be having problems with the ESI 50's, 100's, and 200's with voice processing. Greetings, messages, and prompts are skipping and or repeating. It happens approximately 1 out of 10 times, you can play the message and it will skip then replay the message and will be fine. This sounds like a minor problem, most of our customers just deal with it, however when they spend over $30,000 on a system and have over 100 messages times 8, they have to continue to go back and retrieve the entire message without the skips. We have replaced the flash card twice on the 200's with no luck, we have wasted thousands of dollars and valuable time. ESI does not seem to have a solution. The problem is definitely in the system not in the CO. It even skips in programming. Has anyone else had this problem?

It sounds like a common problem that one would expect to hear on an older ESI that is a hardrive unit. First thing I would check is the software version. The Comserver Line has a new version regularly (for numerous reasons not to be discussed out loud) and when you contact ESI Tech Support that will be the first question they ask. You will want to get with a higher up Tech. Not that the lower level Techs aren't good but this probably ain't covered in the daily manual.

Thanks for the input, we have been working with an engineer, not technicians and have done several updates with the same result. I am surprised no one else seems to have this problem, it has been on every ESI 50, 100, and 200 we have purchased.
