OK, I recieved my first DSX80 PKG w/intramail late today. I have it up and running and I was able to set the time and date (thanks Stacy for your sticky in this forum) from that I know it's a version 3 something plus it's new from a reputable supplier. So now I can't find the exact level of admin software I need for my PC and I can only find upgrade software for the systems on the NEC site. I'm ready to try and talk to this thing via USB but I obviously need some kind of connection software I can't locate on the dealer site. Any private message or email would be helpful. Probably not info for the open forum. A link would be nice.

Anthony, I found and downloaded that file but when I unzip it I don't see how to Install it on my PC , there 's no install file. Or exe file I could find for that matter, it doesn't look like an application. What did you do to get it to talk to the system?

Larry what do you have?  Is it an application file that will talk to this thing?

It's for programming, the CD that came with it did not have it. It's on my other PC and I can get it in the morning.

I just added that version 3 time change the other day when I realized it wasn't there.  Good timing.     I believe you'll find a lot of good support here on this little system.  It's one of my favorites.  The only thing that could make it better, IMO, would be to have the system less "available" to all.

I don't remember if Don or maybe Skip gave me that copy? Didn't want to leave Skip out from all the help he's given me. It's hard getting old!

I now have it loaded on both a 64 bit win 7 and a 32 bit xp but I can't get the usb tab to work, windows wants to look for a driver on both machines. Tech support has not been much help but they are responsive with suggestions pretty  quikly so far. I just haven't liked the suggestions, the usual re-boot re-load try a different usb port. I don't know why they just can't send me the damn driver and tell me where to put it.

The machine asks for a driver which is installed when you install the program.
Do you get a prompt to continue or stop the install because the driver is not digitally signed?

Are you trying to use the 32 bit version on a 64 bit machine?  I've never had a problem when installing it.

I found the trouble. No prompt for driver on 3 25 when loaded a 32 & a 64. When u plug into system the windows wizard asks to go look for it. If you choose yes & automatic, it goes out on www and finds necusb driver, then it works. I informed tech support since nothing they offered worked.

Just a little oddness... this has scared me in the past because it looks for that driver whenever the Admin software is updated.  I've had it go through that process while I'm on-site at a customer with no internet connection, and choosing Yes, Automatic still works.  So... I'm not sure where it's finding that driver from, but I'm not certain it's the web.  Maybe for me it was just because it had been previously installed and a copy of that driver already existed somewhere?

Not sure where it found it but I never had any admin before and I searched my C drive before letting windoze do anything.  I know it took about 4 hours out of my life yesterday

P.S. Stacy - Thanks again for the gifts.
