New ESI IP System
« on: September 11, 2010, 03:19:45 PM »
Okay things are pretty quite in this forum so lets see if we can at least start some kind of interaction, rumors and even speculation!

It should be no secret to most dealers that ESI will be deploying a new pure IP based system soon...and thats all I know.

If you were part of the design team and had some input what would you want to see?

Do you see value here?

Will a new pure IP design help sell more systems and improve your bottom line?

Do you understand IP and Networking enough to even sell it comfortably?

All in One box with routing etc?

Third party apps?

New Phones with no lables, conference phones?

Lets see if we cant get 20 good respones, as you know ESI values reseller input so lets load this up.

Being able to address the phones through the phones, instead of the program tool

I get reminded of that one daily, we just recently did an ESI Link system with 3 Locations and 47 IP Phones around the country. Lots of fun. Supposed to add 4 more locations and 75 IP phones, not sure I will have any techs left after the next phase......

Steve.....YES!!  totally agree!

While I like the "all in one" box for small applications I doubt that ESI will do it and in larger systems its usually not necessary because they already have some type of network infrastructure in place.

and hopefully be price competitive to some of the other IP systems such as Allworx, Ipitomy, etc.

It would be nice if they had a small pure IP system to compete with the lower priced systems out there like Allworx, IPitomy and the other asterisk based systems.

I believe they also need a very robust system to stay in the game with Avaya IPO, Cisco, Shoretel and the other big players.

Touch screen phones, these are great for third party apps.
